The Slave Lake Icedogs Academy is a hockey development program that provides elite training both on ice and off ice. Practices are designed with individual skill development in mind through tactical and technical teaching. Our philosophy is to provide our elite hockey players with the training needed to perform at the highest level in both hockey and academically. Our athletes participate in two GMHL Junior A Hockey League sanctioned games each weekend during our regular season. Education is a big part of our academy. Each school age player is registered in half day academic studies and spends the remainder of the day training. Each of our athletes have a dedicated tutor, advisor, and player agent. Our program is designed to advance our players onto University Level Hockey. The GMHL has advanced over 889 players to every level of Pro & Collegiate Hockey. The Slave Lake Icedogs won the 2019-2020 GMHL West regular season and achieved second place in the 2020-2021 DynaLIFE Cup. The Icedogs lead the division in advancing players onto the next level . We are dedicated to having the best program possible and to our community.
